This is something crazy that I came up with! :D
(One day, by accident, I meet God.)
God: I have decided to spread peace and happiness in this world.
Nakul: That's great. Now how do you propose to do that?
God: First, I will stay in this world to see what suffering you people go through. Then will take the necessary steps.
Nakul: Nice idea.
(God takes the form of a man and begins his life in this world. Many years go by and one day we meet.)
God: This world is miserable. How do you people remain sane?
Nakul: I guess its because we have art. That helps. We resort to other forms of entertainment as well.
God: I want to watch a movie. Lets rent some DVD's. I am in debt right now. Will pay you back later.
(After watching a couple of Bond movies..)
God: I am a lot less stressed. Its a good thing man has entertainment. Keeps him sane.
Nakul: Thats what i said. Anyway, Im hungry. Lets go for dinner.
(After the maincourse..)
Waiter: Any drinks for you?
Nakul: Lime juice..?
Waiter: Alright. And you?
God: A dry martini, in a deep champagne goblet. Three measures of Gordons, one of Vodka, half measure of Kina Lillet. Shaken, not stirred.
Nakul: That's Bond's line. How cheap of you to copy!
God: Technically, its MY line! I am present in all beings remember? Have you forgotten your religious scriptures???!!!!
Nakul: But of course..

The world is a mirror..
"The world is a mirror.. " . I have always wondered what this actually means but never really figured it out until now. I guess I was looking for something really significant when the explanation is quite simple, or so I believe :)
What we like in this world is what we are. Its as simple as that. This is, like anything else, easily understood with a simple example. Personally, I like soft spoken people. I am very comfortable when I'm with them. Now, if the world is a mirror this should mean Im soft spoken too, which, of course, is true!
The same logic can be applied to what we hate. We are the complete opposite of whatever we detest in this world. If you hate violence, it means you love peace. If you hate crowds, you love isolation. This seems pretty obvious and yes, it is obvious. :)
This may contradict the popular belief that opposites attract. For me personally, there is no conflict because I was never comfortable with that theory in the first place :) You may be fascinated by someone who is different from you but, this is not a genuine liking. The fact is, you will like people who are similar to you. They are the ones you will be most comfortable with.
